Baby Won’t Flush!

by Georges Feydeau
Mise en scène : Antoine Séguin

Bastien Follavoine, a porcelain manufacturer, is expecting a distinguished guest at his home, General Chouilloux from the Ministry of Defence, in order to finalise the acquisition of one of his supposedly unbreakable chamber pots, intended for soldiers in the French army.

However, an unfortunate event will disrupt his plans: his wife, Julie, comes to him – still wearing her nightdress – to complain about the whims of their son, "Bébé," who is constipated and stubbornly refuses to take the laxative that has been offered to him. And then, General Chouilloux arrives...

‘On purge bébé!’ is an invitation to escape, a burlesque carnival that resonates with the concerns and absurdities of our time, where laughter proves to be the universal remedy to purge the austerity of our daily lives.
